The Unseen Mind — Memory of Lyrics

The songs I know pop out from all my ages,
Recording starts when memories first occurred,
Some songs have social lessons, words from sages,
with tunes and lyrics still known word for word.

The tunes remembered number in the hundreds,
From Broadway shows, from movies and from more,
The lyric lines count up into the thousands,
Their pulse can deeply permeate my core.

The word inscribed for deeds did not exist,
In ages stone, and times that came before,
The spoken word alone did not persist,
Tunes, word for word, transmitted all the lore.

Rhymed lyrics helped progenitors survive,
That’s why rhymed lyrics in my mind archive.
